Old Country Churches Stores And Mercantile
The small church is very rapidly becoming something of the past. They still exist in the country or small towns, but rapid transportation has been developed to the extent people can travel greater distances more quickly than times past. The small church has been overcome by the large metropolitan church which draws large crowds of people by way of our Interstates to one central location and in fact I know of at least one incidence where the church bought enough land around them to build their own off ramp. Progress in the making. Old stores are fascinating places, especially when as a kid you could walk around and see all the things to buy, or barter. As a kid in Kentucky while visiting my Grandparents, some of my Uncles and Aunts were my age and younger and we would often take eggs down to the country store and trade for candy.
