Description

I had spent the last few days traveling all over the Eastern half of Washington state, photographing barns and farms and the Palouse with all its rolling grain farms and wonderful views and farms where the farms were far apart. So I was surprised to run across this wonderful old church out in the middle of nowhere, but obviously very important to the local folks. I was so struck by the presence of the church I took over one hundred photos and I know I spent far to much time building this photo/art photo but it has turned out to be one of my favorites. I left it somewhat subdued and not totally visible. It has a solid rock textured background that I thought was very indicative of the kind of people who it takes to build a church so far away from any town and out of the reach of most, yet they were strong enough to see it through. I hope my rendering does them proud I know I'm honored to be able to help promote it if even just a little.
